Dr. Joseph Carter is a General Dentist at Lakeside Dental in Halifax
Dr. Carter was born and raised in Halifax, N.S., where he completed both his undergraduate studies and Dental Degree at Dalhousie University. Passionate about all things dentistry, he takes pride in delivering thoughtful, comprehensive care to patients of all ages and walks of life.
He’s also committed to creating a calm, welcoming experience. For those who feel anxious about dental visits, Dr. Carter is board-certified in administering nitrous oxide sedation. This is a safe, mask-delivered option that provides light to moderate level of relaxation to help make appointments feel easier and more comfortable.
When he’s not in the clinic, chances are you’ll find Dr. Carter outdoors. He lives in Waverley with his wife, two children, and their dog. He is happily leaning into his “country living" age by working on his property, learning to garden, and propagating native plants. He’s also become an enthusiastic backyard birder and loves photographing the local wildlife.
He never turns down a good concert, whether it's a big venue show or an impromptu kitchen performance with his kids, and enjoys traveling, fishing, and golfing.
